Learning Experience of ICT in M.Ed. Education

 

My name is Bishnu Prasad Upadhyay. I share my learning experiences in ICT. Our facilitators, Niroj sir and Siddarth sir, assisted and encouraged me throughout the learning process.

ICT is the most powerful tools for mathematics. Almost everyone has access to any ICT tools and these tools are being used in different ways as well.

I learned much ICT knowledge which is used in mathematics after joining the M.Ed. ICT Mathematics class of Kathmandu University. I have learned different parts of hardware and software and application of computer in different ways.

I also learned about teaching models using ICT such as TPACK Model, Flip Model, etc. I was capable of using some MS office programs like Word, PowerPoint, Excel. I did many works in MS word; MS excel and MS PowerPoint. I have used MS word for making mathematics paper. I made mark ledger from MS excel and I made some Presentation slides from MS PowerPoint in our subjects, which was I learned from this class.

Here are some my experiences learning from ICT in Mathematics class.

• Introduction to MOODLE LMS, Meeting Platform, Email Communication.
• What is ICT for you? Why is ICT important for human being or in learning mathematics? How does ICT help in your personal and professional development?  with Slide Presentation.
• My Level in ICT: Google, Microsoft or WPS Office Form.
• Develop basic and fundamental knowledge and skills in computer and applications.
• Develop skills in various web-browser and search engines.
• Develop skills in managing email communication.
• Basics of Computer such as Taskbar, Start, Store, un/install applications, disk management.
• Some essential shortcuts for users.
• Screenshot by Snipping Tool, Snip & Sketch, PowerPoint Feature.
• Web-browser such as Microsoft Edge, Chrome, add-ons and other features.
• Exploring some search engines.
• Calendar management.

• Develop basic and advanced knowledge and skills in word processing, presentation and spreadsheet.
• Present my work to audience based on the required format.
• Implement processors for developing resource and assessment materials.
• Use resources in teaching and learning activities.

• Mathematics-based word documents
• Microsoft word or Libre Word Processor, etc.  
• Basic to advanced features in word processors
• Exporting word file to different formats, Document protection, and management.
• PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress, Prezi, etc. 
• Basic and Advanced features of presentation software, including Add-ins, exporting, and importing PPTs 
• Audio and Video recording and presentation
• Exporting and converting PPT files to different formats, Document protection, and management
• Working on Spreadsheet Application.   
• Basics of Spreadsheet application (Excel and beyond)
• Data Entry, various descriptive statistical values, plots, and figures.
